Tori Amos moved to Los Angeles in her early twenties to pursue her musical interests. Her first project was as the front-woman for the band "Y Kant Tori Read", homage to the fact that she plays from her heart and her ears and not from sheet notes. The group secured a six-album deal with Atlantic Records and released a poorly received debut in 1988. Although they disbanded the following year, Amos was still under contract and label pressure forced her to release an album in 1990 which resulted in Little Earthquakes. Slow initial sales picked up after the single "Silent All These Years" exploded on radio and the lengthy Little Earthquakes Tour, which played 142 concerts.

Tori Amos became a touring sensation, her sincere performance style and heartfelt piano playing added to the hit singles that she was releasing. She became a provocateur of alt-rock and one of the few women to make an impression within the format. She released her sophomore album, Under the Pink, in 1994 and it became her highest selling album to-date. Between 1994 and 1996, Tori Amos tour dates were scheduled along two headlining tours: Under The Pink Tour which played 181 concerts and Dew Drop Inn Tour which played 187 concerts. The prolific touring schedule of Tori Amos is only matched by the frequency of which she puts out records. Since releasing her debut in 1992, Tori Amos has produced and recorded eleven albums and is currently in the studio recording her twelfth disc.

While her lyrics are a work of genius, its her delivery of her words which evokes the pain and the joy that is her life. Amos has proven that she isn't afraid to bare her soul and her performances leave her audiences simultaneously broken and uplifted. For her live shows, Amos was voted as one of the top live acts of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in 2003, a title which few artists can lay claim. In all, she has sold over twelve million records, been nominated for ten Grammy's, and has scored countless hits. Tori Amos' most recent worldwide tour is currently underway. The Night of Hunters Tour will kick off in September and continue through November. Don't miss a date on the Tori Amos concert schedule 2011.
